Builders & Developers: Many of you came back from last year’s International Builder Show excited about two programs that built homes for disabled veterans, but the closest build so far was in Elizabeth, CO and the General Contractor there had things pretty well under control by the time we were able to get involved.
The situation has now changed! I just received word that Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), the non-profit that builds and donates homes to severely wounded veterans of the War on Terror nationwide is preparing to launch their first project in Colorado Springs. They will be building a 3200 square foot, single level home for Army SGT Jeffrey Adams, a double leg amputee.
HFOT is currently seeking a LEED-certified builder to volunteer as the General Contractor for this project. If you are interested in volunteering to be the General Contractor for this project, please call or email me for a copy of the HFOT General Contractor Guide.
HFOT is also looking for a building site for the home, which will be a single-level 3,200 square foot residence. If you have a suitable building site, please contact me. HFOT is not seeking donation of the site, but would obviously appreciate any help they can get on the price.
Please feel free to contact me for additional information at 719-330-1739 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let’s demonstrate once again that Colorado Springs has no peer in stepping up to meet community needs!
